NewTown is a transit desert. A robust transportation plan that balances industrial, pedestrian, and transit uses is needed to support revitalization of the district. A new high-capacity above ground transit line runs along a 3-mile high-street which provides direct access and identity for the district. Industrial transportation is maintained and improved within a new pedestrian scale grid of multi-modal streets and open spaces, as well as within the waterways.
